Privacy policy

FortniteRenders (www.fortniterenders.com) is a fan site that publishes renders of Fortnite skins; it is not affiliated with Epic Games. This page explains which personal data the site handles, why, for how long, and how to exercise your rights. The site is run by its operator (the “controller”), who can be reached at remakcreator@gmail.com.
What we collect
We only collect what the features you use require:
- Skin requests (votes). When you click “I want this skin”, we store a pseudonymous identifier: a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP address combined with the skin and a secret salt. Your IP address itself is never stored. The hash only serves to count one vote per person and per skin, next to the total number of requests for that skin.
- Abuse protection. To limit spam (at most 30 votes and 5 email sign-ups per hour), we keep a short-lived counter keyed by a salted hash of your IP address. It expires automatically within an hour.
- Email notification — only if you opt in. If you ask to be notified, we store your email address, the skin concerned, the date and time of your request (our record of your consent), your site language and a random unsubscribe token.
- On your device. Your browser remembers your site language and the skins you voted for (local storage). This information never leaves your device.
- Hosting and measurement. Our host processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages and keep the service secure. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which measure aggregated visits and page performance without cookies.
Why we use it
- Votes: to rank the most requested skins and decide which renders to make first, while preventing duplicate votes and abuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running the request feature fairly.
- Email: only to send you one email when the skin you asked about becomes available on the site. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. No newsletter, no marketing, and your address is never shared or sold.
How long we keep it
- Your email address is deleted right after the notification email is sent, or as soon as you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
- Vote hashes are deleted when the skin they concern becomes available on the site.
- Abuse-protection counters expire automatically after one hour at most.
Who processes it
We rely on the following providers, acting as processors on our behalf:
- Vercel — website hosting, server functions and audience/performance measurement, in the United States.
- Upstash — the database that stores votes and email requests, in the United States.
- Resend — delivery of the notification email.
Your data is therefore processed outside the European Union. These transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual safeguards for international data transfers. We never sell your data.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may access, rectify or erase your data, restrict or object to its processing, ask for its portability and withdraw your consent at any time. To cancel an email notification, use the unsubscribe link in the email or write to us — we will delete your address. Votes are stored only as pseudonymous hashes that we cannot link back to you on our own, so tell us which skin your request is about to help us find the matching entry.

Advertising
To keep the site free, we may display ads served by Google (Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager). When ads are shown, Google and its partners may use cookies or similar technologies to display ads — including ads based on your previous visits to this site or to other websites — to measure their performance and to prevent fraud. Google acts as an independent controller for this processing.
Your choice is collected by Google's certified consent management platform: visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see Google's consent message, where you can accept or refuse personalised ads and change your choice at any time from the privacy settings link it provides. If you refuse, you may still see ads, but they will not be personalised.
Downloads may require watching a short video ad from Google (a rewarded ad): the download starts once the ad has been watched to the end. If no ad is available, the download starts right away.
